Cicero SD 99 Brian Dominick ECC Groundbreaking

Eriksson Engineering Associates (EEA) sends a big congratulations to Cicero School District 99 and Legat Architects on the wonderful groundbreaking event at the Brian Dominick Early Childhood Center (ECC)! The ECC is located at the former Daniel Burnham Elementary School site at 1630 S. 59th Ave. in Cicero, Illinois. It was an emotional morning as the ceremony, led by District 99 Superintendent Dr. Aldo Calderin, served as a tribute to the life and legacy of former Building and Grounds Director, Brian Dominick. As the district has slowly seen a decline in enrollment, this new center is a symbol of hope for the next generation of Cicero’s early childhood learners.

EEA is proud to be part of the design team for the ECC, providing civil engineering services for this exciting project that will educate and foster creativity in the town’s youth while attracting new families to Cicero with a first-class facility. Our scope includes volume control stormwater management in compliance with MWRD requirements, as well as pavement design and grading for street parking, a parking lot, sidewalks, and a community plaza area in coordination with Site Design Group. EEA also supported grading and stormwater drainage design for an internal courtyard playground to ensure safe and functional outdoor spaces.

We’re so excited to see construction kickoff, and look forward to watching this project progress.
