EEA and Earth Day
EEA is committed to making positive change through innovative and sustainable site designs and solutions. For the Kildeer Countryside School District 96 Solar Array project, we were able to showcase that commitment through our civil and landscape architecture services.
Located in the grass fields behind the Country Meadows Elementary and Woodlawn Middle School campus, this 3-acre, ground-mounted 1.02 megawatt solar array contains 3,068 solar panels. In the first full year, kilowatt-hours purchased from the utility were reduced by 61%, resulting in over $100,000 in energy savings and dramatically reducing the district’s carbon footprint. In addition to the ongoing energy savings, the project is on track to secure over $1M in incentives back to the district.
