Village of Buffalo Grove – Combined Area Fire Training Facility

The Combined Area Fire Training (C.A.F.T.) Facility provides over 3,000 SF of training space and includes a classroom with a kitchenette, offices, restrooms, and a storage area. This facility functions as their combined area fire training program that serves the Fire Departments in the neighboring communities of Deerfield, Bannockburn, Lincolnshire, Riverwoods, Long Grove, and Wheeling.

Site work included a new driveway, ADA parking stalls, a concrete sidewalk, and a ramp to the main entrance. On the exterior of the site, new driveway access was provided to the building’s garage and a new accessible parking space/sidewalk to the front entry. Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) was challenged when our engineers had to identify the amount of on-site cut and fill for earthwork balancing to make sure they had sufficient space on-site to install a berm. Additionally, EEA added an exterior overhand canopy to create a covered patio area for employees.
