The Chapel

The Chapel, a 70-acre faith campus in Lake County, was designed and constructed to include a new church building, youth ministry building, new site infrastructure, on-site sewage treatment facilities, and multiple detention and retention facilities. Over a five-year period, EEA consultants assisted in planning, design, permitting and construction of The Chapel and various site enhancements, working with owners directly and various other design practices.

External components of the church site included an attractive wet pond for baptisms, as well as natural wetland and wooded areas. These unique features balanced with stormwater management tactics added to the aesthetic and functional value of the development.

EEA also developed efficient parking geometric designs for the property, allowing the church to meet  the demands of a quickly growing parish. Off-site roadway improvements were designed and coordinated with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), and enhanced safety was provided for entering the site from a fast and heavily-traveled state route.
