Silver Birch of Muncie

Silver Birch of Muncie, a senior living/residential care facility, replaced a dilapidated bowling alley and now features 119 one-bedroom and studio units. The three-story Vermilion Development property is surrounded by gardens, a gazebo, and private walking paths. The development is National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Bronze Certified and features sustainable design elements.

Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) consultants provided civil engineering services and assisted during the construction of the development. At the start of the project, contaminated soils were found on the 3.66-acre site. To address this issue, EEA civil engineers designed the grading of the site to form a cap of clean soil and reduce the amount of contaminated soil for removal.

The team also performed a variety of site improvements and obtained permits from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), the City of Muncie, and the Muncie Sanitary District (MSD).
