Round Lake High School New Stadium Renovation

The students, faculty, and community of Round Lake were thrilled to give their football and soccer field a long overdue update. Located in a northern suburb of Chicago, Round Lake High School’s $6 million stadium renovation project was completed in 2019. The goal for this renovation was to give students the same opportunities that other students currently have outside of their district. The field, which is located behind the school represents their school pride and is an important part of the campus.

The stadium is utilized by the football and soccer teams, as well as the band and various other activities. The project brought much-needed updates and upgrades to the athletic and physical education facilities at Round Lake High School. The renovation and additions to the school included a complete reconstruction of the football/soccer stadium complex.

This stellar new stadium serves as a gathering hub for both students and the community and will be sure to strengthen their Panther Pride! Round Lake High School was proud to show off its new stadium and celebrated with an official-ribbon cutting ceremony.

Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) provided several on-site services. This project required an extensive amount of foundation work to make sure drainage problems would not resurface in the future. EEA was involved with the construction and coordination of the new concession building along with repurposing a storage building and scoreboard that included a giant message board. The current stadium bleachers were not up to date with ADA regulations and were hazardous to young children. The project team built an aluminum, fully-closed deck system with a seating capacity of 2,250. Outside the stadium saw the regrading and sodding of two practice soccer fields, along with the addition of 8 competition tennis courts. Multiple above-ground detention basins, wetland analysis, and village/county permitting were also required to bring the project to fruition. EEA was responsible for the coordination of the new running track. Additionally, EEA provided landscape architecture services for this project.
