North Center Senior Campus

Consultants from EEA have been involved with the North Center Senior Campus development since the start of master planning for the new affordable housing senior community located in the North Center neighborhood.

Designed as a community in itself, the North Center Senior Campus sits on a 7.7-acre city block parcel and includes three separate residential buildings along with Advocate Health Center Irving Medical Building, a decorative fountain, and open spaces. Project initiatives included unique offerings for transportation, workability, accessibility, safety, shopping, housing, health, and recreation.

Construction of the Martha Washington apartments at Irving Park Road and Western Avenue was completed in the fall of 2005. The building is a 5-story brick complex, containing 104 dwelling units within the top four stories, as well as a community room, exercise room, game room, and wellness center on the ground floor.

The St. Vincent de Paul Residence, constructed in 2007, contains 86 one-bedroom units, and Belle Plaine Commons, the last to be completed, is a 5-story, 92-unit condominium building, adding to the variety of housing offered to senior residents.
