Gurnee Fire Station 3

Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) partnered with FGM to design the new Gurnee Fire Station 3, located at 5330 Manchester Dr. on the South end of Gurnee.

To accommodate an increase in calls over the last decade, the new station will provide quicker response times for village residents. The Gurnee Fire Department protects a 30 square miles area, making it the second busiest in Lake County. This 14,452 SF station is staffed with five firefighter/paramedics and houses two ambulances and one ladder truck. They also provide contractual fire protection and EMS to the Warren-Waukegan Fire Protection District (WWFPD), which they have been doing since the 1930s.

Our team of civil engineers assisted with completing this project under budget and on time. The final cost of this project was $5.9 million. On this existing, two-acre development, EEA designed the new station with the needs of the staff in mind, making sure the station was fully functional. Additionally, a parking lot was constructed, along with a sidewalk.
