Francis W. Parker School

Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) has worked with Francis W. Parker School, a private K-12 school, on site improvements since 2004.

Located in a lakefront urban setting, the school campus underwent many changes with the help of EEA design consultants, with larger improvements including:

  • New science laboratory
  • Loading dock/Alley reconstruction
  • Arts center renovation
  • New athletic stadium with Synthetic Turf field

EEA consultants most recently completed the design of a new athletic field. Due to soil challenges, as well as specialized detention and liner needs beneath the field, EEA worked directly with school officials and City of Chicago representatives to develop a customized solution for the site and secure needed approvals.

Civil construction costs prior to 2012 are in excess of $500,000, and the new synthetic field has an estimated construction cost of $1.2 million.
