AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center Chicago

The Principals at Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) have been providing civil engineering services on the Resurrection Hospital and medical office campuses for more than 25 years. Now known as the AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center Chicago, the campus has undergone many renovations and site improvements, making access to and use of the site more efficient for hospital staff, doctors, emergency personnel, and patients alike. The extensive list of projects includes:

• Medical office buildings
• Emergency department and access
• Nursing and rehabilitation center
• Lobby and drop off at the main entrance
• Two new parking structures
• 400-car parking lot
• Bed tower
• Site development adjacent to building additions
• Underground detention storage
• Utility connections and lighting

Besides the projects above, during five years, EEA designed a complete phased replacement of the hospital’s entire water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater management, power supply, roadway, heliport, and parking improvements to meet growing needs and prepare the hospital campus for future growth. Upon completion, construction value alone was estimated over $10 million.

Overall, the value of civil engineering improvements designed by EEA consultants on the  Resurrection Medical Center campus over the last 10 years is approximately $20 million.
