Advocate Condell Medical Center
EEA has worked continuously with Advocate Condell Medical Center (now part of Advocate Aurora Health) since 1999 on projects including master planning, property acquisition, development feasibility, utility infrastructure requirements, major campus renovations, and approvals.
One of Condell’s largest projects consisted of a $90 million facility expansion and included the relocation of city water mains, a new ring road system, parking redesign, and analysis and expansion of the existing stormwater management system. This project followed with a cardiology and emergency department expansion. This multi-year project required a new dock on the north side of campus; addressed staging, storage and parking concerns; and the relocation of underground infrastructure prior to new construction.
EEA consultants then worked with the hospital to approve the largest non-residential Planned Unit Development (PUD) Ordinance in the village had ever passed. The eight-month process required extensive negotiations with Village officials, development of many regulatory exhibits and testimonies. Over the next several years, EEA continued to assist with a new patient tower and radiation oncology center. With each project, EEA developed several sets of phased construction documents to ensure facilities could remain open for staff and operate an optimal efficiency for high-quality patient care.
