Advocate Aurora Health SW Waukesha Clinic

Advocate Medical Group, owned by Advocate Aurora Health, converted an existing commercial building into a medical clinic in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) was enlisted to provide civil engineering services for the nearly 2-acre site. EEA’s primary goal was to create safe and accessible designs that would meet the needs of both patients and staff.

To achieve this, EEA provided new utility connections, reconstructed the parking lot, added a patient drop-off area and installed a new public sidewalk and internal private walks. Our firm also created a new vehicular exit drive and an on-site drainage system. The location of the drainage infrastructure was carefully selected to minimize site grading and disturbance.

Accessory structures include a trash enclosure and an at grade mechanical system yard. The parking lot was reconfigured to provide additional ADA parking stalls, as well as a covered patient drop-off area with a snow melt system at the main entrance.

The right-turn-only exit drive presented particular challenges due to their proximity to a nearby intersection. Despite objections from the city, EEA successfully overcame these challenges through careful site planning and modifications, ultimately receiving approval to create the drive.
