John Kopach, EIT

Design Engineer

John (Johnny)’s childhood was filled with STEM-related hobbies and activities, including playing with his dad’s hand-me-down Tinker Toys and Lincoln Logs. Johnny received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Iowa in 2019. Serving as a teaching assistant during his junior and senior years at Iowa, Johnny helped teach statics and surveying classes.

Now part of our Chicago office, Johnny serves as a Design Engineer. He values creating relationships in the workplace and likes to break free from the introverted engineer stereotype by being a vocal member of the team and spark conversations.

Outside of the office, Johnny serves as a board member for the Science Olympiad USA Foundation, a K-12 STEM non-profit organization with the goal of improving science education through competition. Speaking of competition, he also enjoys a good game of beach or grass volleyball. Johnny is a huge Chicago sports fan. The Bulls are his absolute number one, followed by the Bears and Cubs (but he does not hate the Sox either). When it comes to college football, he roots for his alma mater, the University of Iowa, and the University of Michigan (UOM) since he was born and raised a UOM fan. With his love for music, Johnny also enjoys attending concerts and collecting records.
