Hawthorne Early Childhood School

Hawthorne Early Childhood School serves three to five-year-old students. Within their diverse learning community, this school offers a pre-kindergarten program that will recognize the individual strengths of a child while encouraging their growth. Their program offers each child learning opportunities that promote their social-emotional, cognitive, communication, and motor development skills. Renovations were completed during the summer of 2020.

Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) provided paving and sidewalk work to accommodate a new accessible ramp and stairs at the north entrance to the school. The work included providing an ADA compliant access to their outdoor playground area from the school’s back doors. To do this, a ramp and two staircases were added. Two new building downspouts needed to be picked up and directed to a downstream area, so there was some minimal storm sewer work included in the scope.
