Ben Ahring, PE

Principal/Senior Project Manager

Ben’s first foray into the world of engineering was at seven years old, when he designed a miniature golf course in his backyard. While his passion for golf remains the same, Ben has become one of EEA’s most trusted senior project managers.

Ben brings over 20 years of project management experience and has led the design of several public sector projects including park facilities, municipal buildings, fire stations, police stations, and schools. When working with clients, Ben focuses on project management; integrating owner, architect and land planner’s visions with actual site conditions. He takes his expertise one step further by representing clients at public meetings and collaborating with design team partners.

Ben serves on the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) Technical Advisory Committee and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Northeast Illinois Chapter. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bradley University and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Illinois.

Eclipsing his passion for golf is Ben’s love for his family. He volunteers as a coach for his son’s baseball team and is a leader of the local Prairie Trail Federation group, a father-son organization that encourages spending time with your kids.
