Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) and Walker Consultants were recently selected by the Village of Shorewood for a village-wide analysis of their transportation and parking systems.
Shorewood, Wisconsin is a vibrant urban suburb of the City of Milwaukee. The area is among the most densely developed municipalities in the state of Wisconsin.
The team will conduct a comprehensive review of Shorewood’s existing transportation regulations and infrastructure. The scope will also include an evaluation of the current supply of parking based on economic and environmental implications, market conditions and “complete street” best practices. A public engagement process will take place for input on the team’s recommendations.
EEA will develop state-of-the-art transportation recommendations based on inventory and analysis of the Village of Shorewood’s transportation network. EEA’s scope will include data collection, street classification, standard street cross-sections, transit/bike/pedestrian accommodations, and a review of the improvement approval process.
The effectiveness of the Metro Market redevelopment’s transportation system will also be part of the assessments, including possible recommendations for improvements.
