Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) has been partnering with Sycamore Community School District 427 for over a decade, providing exceptional civil and parking engineering services for various education maintenance and improvement projects. Our most recent experience includes several school locations:

  • North Grove Elementary School
  • West Elementary School
  • Southeast Elementary School
  • North Elementary School
  • South Prairie Elementary School
  • Sycamore High School

At the elementary school sites, our team successfully resolved issues for multiple projects while utilizing a phased approach to minimize disruptions for students and staff. Projects included the replacement of asphalt playgrounds, teacher parking lots, ADA accessible ramps, sidewalks, and maintenance area driveways. EEA engineers also designed an underdrain to mitigate water seepage issues from a bus loop, in addition to replacing a damaged concrete sewer line caused by utility installation.

The North Elementary School site proved particularly challenging in that is was located within a floodplain. Careful planning and design were required to ensure site elevations did not negatively disperse flood waters. To keep costs down, EEA also provided three different pavement options to help the School District prioritize their site needs.

Sycamore High School projects focused on enhancing the athletic facilities, as well as pick-up/drop-off and parking areas. Our team worked to repair cracks, resurface, and stripe six tennis courts, as well as resurface the eight-lane running track, long/triple jump, and high jump areas. Additionally, EEA provided designs for the varsity ball field, pitcher/catching warm-up areas, and a brand-new batting cage.
