EEA has worked on a variety of education expansion projects, including on the design and construction of building and parking lot additions for Sycamore Middle School.
From the start of the project, Sycamore Community Unit School District 427 instructed the design team to coordinate all construction around the existing facility to allow the school to stay open for the duration of the project. Existing utilities were moved in preparation for construction, which took place in the spring while school was in session.
EEA’s participation in the project included the design of paving, grading, and utilities to service the new building addition. Additionally, EEA worked with several local and statewide agencies to coordinate the project, including:
• City of Sycamore
• Illinois Historic Preservation Agency
• Illinois Department of Natural Resources (Threatened and Endangered Species)
• Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Notice of Intent, Division of Water Pollution Control)
