EEA has been working with Advocate Healthcare on their Christ Medical Center campus in the development and implementation of plans for a major renovation. The current project, in its second phase, includes the expansion of various campus buildings, a new patient tower and parking garage, and a widening of a main roadway. EEA is also assisting in the design of pedestrian plazas and a walkway, reconfiguration of the main loading dock, and major utility infrastructure improvements. These improvements include relocation of the oxygen farm, a new municipal water main and ComEd primary duet campus banks.
During design, EEA consultants had to consider the needs of all aspects of the facilities along with challenges presented by maintaining operation of existing roadways. The client required different teams for implementation of each phase, so EEA has followed current Phase I progress and changes, as well as collaborated with other project teams, to ensure their plans are still relevant tot he site’s needs. Through site visits, on-site troubleshooting, and collaborative efforts, EEA has offered the client ideas to provide flexibility so the campus will offer the most efficient use for both staff and patients.
EEA consultants are assisting Advocate Christ in pursuing LEED Gold status for the renovation of their medical campus.
