Advocate Christ Medical Center

Keeping Advocate Christ Medical Center open and operational was the prime concern when the integrated lean project design (ILPD) team started working on several projects as part of the master redevelopment plan. The projects included a new patient tower, a replacement parking garage, roadway widening, streetscape improvements, expansion/renovation of the Emergency Department, pedestrian plazas, and reconfiguration of loading docks.

In accordance with the multiplying building projects, Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (EEA) executed major utility infrastructure improvements: the relocation of an oxygen farm, a new municipal water main and ComEd duct banks.

EEA strategically collaborated with the ILPD team selected by Advocate to ensure the design was coordinated at each step of the project and to address any challenges throughout construction. The team’s diligent process of conducting site visits, constant on-site troubleshooting, and collaborative efforts with the ILPD Team, provided the owners with the flexibility they needed. The project was completed on time and remained operational during construction.
